Acer Putters - Accurate on the Greens

by B. Swanson

Every serious golfer needs to have his own set of golf clubs. Using the same clubs each and every time you play a game of golf and for every practice session will definitely help to improve your golf game. However, just heading to the nearest sporting goods store and purchasing a set of clubs off of the sales floor isn't really the best option. Instead, customized clubs should be purchased. Manufacturers mass produce golf clubs for sale at stores that are sized for average heights, weights, and strengths of women and men-yet how many people are really average? It is far wiser to inquire at a golf store (either online or brick-and-mortar) about getting golf clubs custom made for you. Additionally, many experts recommend that people have Acer putters made for them. Acer putters are some of the most advanced in the putter component market. They are all painstakingly created through the use of computer aided design (CAD) software. Since the United States Golf Association (USGA) made a rules change, the face of a putter doesn't need to be greater in size than the front-to-back dimension. So, Acer putters are able to have a different shape to them, which makes them more straight and accurate. Currently, there are five models of Acer putters that you can purchase to have custom assembled. Each has different features, and each can make a big difference in your golf game. Here are the different models: Acer CB2: This model has a two-piece construction. The milled aluminum face is lightweight, and the center section has a soft feel. These allow the weight to be distributed to the outer part of the head. These Acer putters have very high inertia because each has a stainless steel outer right which provides weight-and, therefore, accuracy.

Acer CB3: This Acer truly takes advantage of the USGA rules change about shape and design because its concept was a reverse engineering of the traditional putter shape. Acer reduced the material in the face (which now measures 2 2/3") and redistributed it into the corners. The head is made from stainless steel with a black aluminum insert. The result is that these Acer putters greatly reduce twisting.

Acer CB4: Inertia is maximized with these Acer putters because the rear is wider than the face. Additionally, this model is more customizable than most people could ever imagine-there are actually 36 custom options via the screws that are used to fine-tune the balance and the weight.

Acer CB5: These Acer putters are a mallet type; however, they are more condensed from back to front than most other mallet types. Like some of the other Acers, this model also has a high moment of impact; in this case it is because of the weight in the rear corners. The result of the weight distribution is less backspin for a more precise putt.

Acer CB6: These Acer putters resemble a cross between a mallet and a blade type. The perimeter wings contain redistributed weight, which helps to provide both inertia and accuracy to the putts. Choosing any of these Acer Putters can help to improve your game. Studies have shown that about 40% of any game of golf is spent on the green. So, it is essential to own a club with which you are comfortable and which will give you the type of performance that you need on the green. All of the Acer putters have excellent moment of inertia ratings, which means that they are highly accurate. A recent test of various golf clubs was performed and published in a popular golfing magazine, and the Acers out-performed all of the other clubs that were tested. Of course, you will have to put in time and effort with these clubs; however, choosing an Acer is certainly a good decision if you are trying to greatly improve your golf game.
