Golf is an enjoyable and addictive sport and hobby. Once you have got the golf bug it never seems to go away. Some people enjoy the exercise they get from walking the whole length of the golf course but for those who don't they invented golf carts.
The idea behind the golf cart is simply that it should be a small powered vehicle that is suitable for driving around a golf course without causing damage or excessive noise and disturbance to other players. They are normally gas or electric powered and are easy to drive.
Electric golf carts are very easy to drive and have very few moving parts so they are very reliable and requires little in the way of maintenance. The electric motors are very quiet and becuase they are so simple and easy to operate they suit most people very well.
Unlike the electric golf cart, the gas powered engine in a gas golf cart makes it more like a small and lightweight car. Low powered though they may be, some people like to tune them up and race them but their biggest advantage as a golf cart is that they can run for hours on a tank of gas with no worries about running out of battery power as the electric powered ones may do.
A new golf cart can run to several thousand dollars but a good secondhand used golf cart can be picked up for a lot less than the cost of a new one. Golf carts are generally lightly used and if you find a good one a quick check by a qualified mechanic should find any faults but they are generally reliable and dependable.
Check that it has not been subject to excessive wear and tear and that it has been maintained in the correct way at regular intervals. A properly maintained gas or electric golf cart should have plenty of years life left in it and can be purchased for a very reasonable price.
