PGA Heart of Golf. Golf Lessons Leeds, Bradford & Keighley.

by Mark Tyler

The PGA Professional is at the Heart of Golf. Anything from coaching the basics of the swing to a complete novice to the running of a golf resort, no other person is better equipped for such diverse roles in golf. As a qualified member of the PGA since 1995 I have many years of experience, helping me to improve your golf and making it more enjoyable.

Golf now stands as one of the biggest participation sports in the country. The huge increase in the amount of golfers playing on a regular basis has had a direct affect on the role of the PGA pro. As the sport has grown in popularity over the years, this has allowed many pros to concentrate on a specific part of the game. Many now specialise in areas such as coaching, retail, management or club repairs.

When I became a fully qualified member of the PGA in 1995 I spent 7 years working as a Club Professional. This allowed me to experience various aspects of the profession. I had always had a huge interest in coaching the game and in 2003 I established MT Golf Academy. Six years on I have never looked back and now work with golfers of all ages and abilities on a daily basis. Many of the sessions are delivered on a one to one basis as well as in groups.

One of the greatest golfers to emerge from England is Nick Faldo. The six time Major winner remains a huge supporter of the PGA Professional. His first introduction to golf was at his home club, Welwyn Garden City, via six lessons with the resident pro. Nick Faldo states My big message to club members and newcomers is always that money spent on a lesson is money well spent.

Nick Faldo, arguably one of the greatest golfing talents and winner of six Major championships, was first introduced to golf at his local club with a series of lessons with the resident pro. The three-time Open and Master Champion remains a huge supporter of the PGA professional. "My big message to club members and newcomers is always that money spent on a lesson is money well spent."

Over the last 14 years I have studied the techniques of countless players and the methods used by the best coaches in the game. This has equipped me with the knowledge to improve the swings of everybody I work with.

The main Academy venues are located at Ghyllbeck Driving Range, Esholt and Fardew Golf Club, East Morton. However 2009 sees the start of my coaching at Bingley St.Ives, Harden and Headley Golf Club, Bradford. I have also been given the role of Golf Academy Manager for Shipley College, after the launch of some exciting new BTEC National Diploma courses for school leavers.
